Best Sports Betting Sites is an independent comparison site for Canadian bettors. We research online sportsbooks that accept players from across Canada, rate them on the things that decide a betting account — odds pricing, market depth, payout speed, banking in CAD and track record — and publish what we find, including the parts operators would rather we left out.

We are not a sportsbook. We do not take bets, hold funds or run promotions. Everything on unfaircanada.com is editorial: reviews, rankings, payment explainers and betting guides written for people who already know how a moneyline works and are comparing where to put their action.

Why this site exists

Canada's betting landscape is split. Provincial operators run under provincial regulators, Ontario has its own regulated iGaming market, and alongside both sits a large group of international sportsbooks that accept Canadian customers and operate under offshore licences. That second group is what we cover.

It is a grey area, and we say so plainly rather than dressing it up. The sites we list are not licensed by any Canadian authority and are not provincially regulated. They hold international licences, which are a form of oversight but are not Canadian government approval and should never be read as such. Our job is to tell you which of them have a credible record of paying, priced markets worth betting into and banking that works from a Canadian bank account — and which do not.

Where our money comes from

We earn commission when a reader opens an account through one of our links. That funds the site. It does not buy a ranking, a rating or a kind word.

  • Operators cannot pay to move up a list. Position is set editorially.
  • Every brand we recommend gets at least one stated drawback, including the top-ranked one.
  • Bonus terms are published beside the bonus, not buried at the bottom of the page.
  • We keep covering a site after it disappoints readers, and we amend the review rather than quietly removing it.

If that balance ever looks off to you, tell us. The contact page reaches the editorial inbox directly.

How we score a sportsbook

Our ratings are editorial scores out of 10, assigned by our review team. They are not customer-review averages and they are not the product of live testing — we research, verify and document, we do not claim to have deposited or withdrawn at every brand we cover. Each score is built from these weighted factors:

FactorWhat we checkWhy it matters to Canadian bettors
Odds and pricingSpread and total pricing, whether reduced juice is offered, how prices compare across the same eventA persistent half-point or price edge outweighs any welcome bonus over a season
Market coverageNHL, NFL, NBA, MLB, soccer, golf, MMA, plus futures, props, SGPs and in-play depthCanadian bettors want hockey covered properly, not as an afterthought
Payout speed and reliabilityStated processing windows, crypto versus card, payout limits, history of complaintsWithdrawal behaviour is the single clearest signal of an operator's health
Banking in CADWhether accounts can be held and settled in Canadian dollars, deposit methods, feesCurrency conversion quietly costs money on every deposit and cash-out
Bonus termsRollover, minimum odds, qualifying stake, expiry, market exclusions, maximum cashoutHeadline numbers mean nothing without the wagering requirement beside them
Limits and account treatmentMaximum stakes, whether winning accounts are restrictedHigh-limit bettors care more about this than about free bets
Trust signalsLicence details, site security, KYC process, support channels, public reputationRecourse is limited offshore, so track record carries the weight

What our top-ranked brands look like under review

Three examples of how we write a sportsbook up. Bonus figures are the operators' advertised offers; the conditions attached to them are set by the operator and change, so read the current terms on site before you commit a deposit.

Instant Casino — rated 10.0

Our highest-rated option and the clearest example of what we reward: a combo-bet enhancement rather than a deposit-match bonus. Instant Casino advertises up to 40% extra on combo bets, which pays out on the bet itself instead of arriving as bonus credit you have to roll over. For a parlay bettor on NHL or NFL multiples, that structure is worth more than a larger headline number tied to heavy wagering. The percentage scales with the number of legs, and the uplift is capped, so check the leg minimum and the maximum extra before you build a slip around it.

Limitation: the value is concentrated in parlays. If you bet single-game moneylines or sides, the offer does almost nothing for you, and a 10.0 rating does not mean every market is priced best here — it reflects the overall package, not a guaranteed price advantage.

Ivibet — rated 9.8

Ivibet earns its place on breadth. The sportsbook covers the North American majors alongside deep European soccer, with in-play markets running through the main leagues. Its advertised sport bonus up to €150 is exactly the kind of detail we flag rather than gloss over: the offer is quoted in euros, so a Canadian bettor should confirm how the account handles currency and whether CAD settlement is available before depositing, since conversion costs apply on the way in and the way out.

Limitation: the euro-denominated promotion is a poor fit for anyone who wants clean C$ accounting, and the bonus is modest next to the deposit matches elsewhere on this list.

Betninja — rated 9.7

Betninja sits high because its welcome package is sized for bettors who fund an account properly: up to $2,500 plus 100 free spins. That is a matched bonus, meaning you reach the upper figure only by depositing to the matching threshold — it is not money handed over, and the free spins belong to the casino side of the account rather than the sportsbook. Wagering requirements, minimum odds and an expiry window apply, and the spins usually carry their own separate terms.

Limitation: a bonus of this size takes real turnover to clear, and the free-spins component pulls you toward casino play if you only came to bet on sport. Read the rollover before you opt in; you can usually decline the bonus and bet unencumbered.

The rest of the list

  • Skycrown (9.4) — a 450% welcome bonus, the largest percentage we list, with correspondingly demanding terms.
  • 5bet (9.4) — C$45 free bet for C$30, one of the few offers quoted natively in Canadian dollars and the simplest to evaluate.
  • WSM Casino (9.1) — 200% deposit bonus up to $25,000 plus 50 free spins; a ceiling most bettors will never approach.
  • DisCasino (8.9) — 200% up to 10,000 USDT with 10% cashback, built for crypto-funded accounts.
  • CoinPoker (8.7) — up to 40% extra on combo bets, again aimed at parlay bettors.
  • VegasHero (8.7) — 100% bonus up to 200 USDT, a smaller crypto-denominated match.
  • Wintino (8.4) — 100% up to $150, modest and quick to clear relative to the field.

Money in, money out

Using our site costs nothing. What you spend is at the sportsbook, and the banking side is where Canadian bettors get caught out most often, so it gets close attention in every review.

Depositing. Offshore books typically support Visa and Mastercard, bank wire, money transfer, voucher or player-transfer arrangements, and cryptocurrency. Interac availability varies by operator and changes without notice. Canadian card issuers sometimes decline gambling transactions outright, which is why crypto and voucher routes are common fallbacks.

Withdrawing. Crypto is generally the fastest route once an account is verified; card refunds and wires take longer and may carry a fee at the operator's end, your bank's end, or both. Every book sets its own minimum and maximum withdrawal per transaction and per period. We check those limits and publish them where the operator states them, because a high advertised payout speed is meaningless if the weekly cap is low.

Currency. Where CAD is offered, use it. Several offers on this site are quoted in euros or USDT, and holding a balance in another currency means conversion on deposit, conversion on withdrawal, and a moving target in between.

Verification. Expect KYC — ID, proof of address, sometimes proof of payment method. Some books ask lighter, some ask at first withdrawal. Complete it early. The most common cause of a "slow payout" is documents requested only after a cash-out is filed. We treat advertised processing windows as advertised, never as tested results.

What we cover beyond the sportsbook

Most of the brands we review run a sportsbook and a casino from the same wallet, and several started on the casino side. That matters practically: a welcome package may split across both, free spins are casino-only, and wagering contributions differ sharply between sports bets and slots.

  • Sports — NHL, NFL, NBA, MLB and soccer as the core, plus golf, MMA and tennis; markets spanning moneyline, point spread, totals, futures, props, parlays and same-game parlays.
  • Live and in-play — in-running prices, cash-out where offered, and the latency that decides whether in-play is usable on a phone.
  • Racebooks — horse racing, where offered, usually priced and settled separately from the main sportsbook.
  • Casino and live dealer — slots, table games and live-dealer rooms, relevant here mainly because bonus terms tie them to the sports offers. We also maintain a separate review of casino sites that operate outside GamStop for readers who come to us from that angle.

Eligibility, age and the legal position

You must be of legal gambling age in your province or territory — 19 in most of Canada, 18 in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec. Operators enforce this at verification, and an underage account will not be paid out.

Availability and rules differ by province. Ontario runs a regulated iGaming market with its own licensed operators; other provinces offer betting through their provincial platforms. The international sportsbooks listed on this site sit outside both frameworks. They accept bettors from across Canada and hold offshore licences, but they are not approved, licensed or supervised by any Canadian regulator, and Canadian consumer-protection routes do not apply to them in the way they would to a provincially licensed product. That is the trade-off, and it is why our reliability and track-record scoring carries so much weight.

Betting is entertainment with a cost attached. Set a deposit limit before you need one, and use the tools operators provide. Our responsible gambling resources list Canadian support services, and the site terms explain what our content is and is not.

Keeping the site current

Odds, bonus terms, payment methods and limits move constantly. We re-check the operators we list on a rolling basis and date the page when we do — this one was last fact-checked on Sep 25, 2026. Where an operator changes a term after we publish, the operator's own terms page is the authority; treat our figures as a starting point for comparison, not a contract.

Found something out of date, or had an experience with a listed sportsbook that contradicts our write-up? Send it over. Reader reports are the fastest way we learn that a book's payout behaviour has changed, and they carry real weight in our reviews.
